Interesting ESA-conferences and workshops to come: An overview

The Φnnovation Summit will be held at ESA-ESRIN (Frascati, Italy) 23.-25. June 2026. This event brings together forward-thinking researchers, bold entrepreneurs, and technology pioneers to explore the future of Earth observation and will spotlight disruptive technologies and approaches that could redefine the future of Earth Observation, exploiting transformative innovations like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Quantum, Neuromorphic, Edge and Bio-inspired Computing, Metamaterials and Surfaces, Immersive Visualisation, Cognitive Space, Computational Imaging, and many more. The Φnnovation Summit is designed to be interactive and community driven. The programme features many parallel sessions, with formats chosen by the attendees themselves -whether it is a fast-paced PechaKucha, an open Fishbowl dialogue or the Main Plenary in the mornings.  Registration deadline: 1. The Fringe 2026 Workshop on the Science and Applications of SAR Interferometry will be organised in Krakow, Poland from 15 to 19 June 2026.

• « Objectives of workshop:
  • To bring together the global InSAR research and development communities and facilitate international exchange between researchers and research groups;
  • To present the Sentinel-1 mission status, algorithms and products;
  • To present the BIOMASS mission status, algorithms, products and first science results;
  • To review and assess the progress according to the recommendations voiced at Fringe 2023;
  • To consult the scientific communities to prepare ESA for starting supporting science activities for Sentinel-1 FG/NG, BIOMASS, ROSE-L and Harmony in the InSAR domain.

The event will facilitate the integration EO into national statistics processes and policy reporting, addressing how EO data can enhance the accuracy, timeliness and spatial granularity of key metrics used for example in natural capital assessments, agricultural monitoring, and GHG emission reporting. The aim is to accelerate the way EO can effectively enable the policy implementation and the simplification of transversal reporting.

This workshop aims to bring together the scientific community and industry working on advanced processing techniques for spaceborne systems with the goal of fostering scientific exchange, accelerating innovation, and supporting the exploitation of emerging capabilities for the characterization of moving targets, sensor fusion, and AI-driven analytics in defense, security, and geointelligence applications

19-22 may 2026, Huntsville, Alabama, USA. Registration closes on 30. April 2026. Recordings will be available to access after the conference. 

An ESA-funded initiative, this forum highlights cutting-edge research and innovation within Africa’s food-water nexus, showcasing how Earth Observation supports sustainable water management, agriculture, and food security. Registration is free.
